Honda driver Dan Cammish will line up for the final rounds of the 2019 British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch on Sunday 13th October as one of the three prime contenders for the highly coveted drivers’ title.

A dramatic weather-affected weekend at Silverstone, where the initiative swung between the championship leaders with each of the three races, has left just five of the 30 BTCC drivers with a mathematical chance of claiming the title. But most observers expect either Cammish, Colin Turkington or Andrew Jordan to emerge with the big prize.

Cammish’s Halfords Yuasa Racing Honda Civic Type R will line up for the first race just 16 points behind Turkington, whose team-mate Jordan currently holds third, just one point behind Cammish. With more than 60 points available from the three races, the title battle is too close to call.

The Honda man will also be encouraged by the knowledge that at last year’s Brands Hatch finale, he took his first two race victories in the BTCC, while this week provided a further boost when he signed a two-year extension to his contract with Halfords Yuasa Racing.

Meanwhile Cammish’s team-mate Matt Neal will be looking to end an unlucky 2019 BTCC season on a high at a circuit where he has enjoyed a lot of success – in nine seasons racing a works Honda he has won six times at the Kent track. He will also be looking for strong finishes in a bid to secure the manufacturers’ title – with Honda currently in second place just 36 points off the lead – and to protect Halford Yuasa Racing’s 22-point advantage in the teams championship.

All three races on 13th October will be broadcast live on ITV4.
