Back-to-back Porsche Carrera Cup champion Daniel Cammish heads to Brands Hatch in a relaxed mood ahead of the opening two rounds of the 2017 season.

Dan has enjoyed unprecedented success in the championship, having won 24 races from 34 starts since making his debut in the final two rounds of the 2014 season. The Kent-based speed bowl has been a happy hunting ground for the 28-year old, taking three victories and a second place in his last four races. On each occasion, he has carried the orange, blue and white colours of Nationwide Crash Repair and PPG Paint.

He will be aiming to add to that tally as he goes for a historic third back-to-back Porsche Carrera Cup title but will face some stiff competition. The 2017 season is set to be one of the most competitive in the championship’s history with 11 pro drivers racing in the three-class, 22 car grid. Single-seater convert Tio Elinas will pose a threat along with 2016 rivals Dino Zamparelli, team-mate Tom Oliphant and scholar Charlie Eastwood.

The Carrera Cup will form part of a dual campaign as Dan also takes on the competition in the international Porsche Supercup in 2017. This will result in Dan missing the Snetterton races in late July, however, this doesn’t phase him.

Two free practice sessions will take place on Friday at 9 am and 12:20 with qualifying taking place at 12:05 on Saturday afternoon. Round one will start at 10 am on Sunday with round two following at 15:40. The second 34 lap race will be broadcast live on ITV4 with highlights from race one being shown during the day-long broadcast.
