Daniel Cammish put in a superb effort to secure a double pole position for the last two rounds of the 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season.

The Leeds-based driver put the disappointments of Silverstone behind him to set the two fastest times during the half-hour qualifying session around the Kent speed bowl. The Nationwide Crash Repair/PPG Paint backed car was unstoppable, hitting the top of the times in the early stages of the session.

Having been fastest overall in the two free practice sessions on Friday Dan was confident of a good result, and with a chance of rain interrupting play, it was important to put in a fast lap straight away. He did exactly that, setting a time of 1 minute 27.586 around the historic 2.4-mile circuit. With a new set of tyres fitted he went even faster in the second half of the session, setting a new record pole time of 1:27.339, and pushing the top spot out of reach of the rest of the field.

Dan still has a mathematical chance of taking a third consecutive Porsche Carrera Cup GB title, making history in the process, however, the odds are against him. He currently lies 32 points behind championship leader Charlie Eastwood and will need the Porsche scholar and Dino Zamparelli to suffer misfortune.

Round 14 starts at 10:40 with round 15 broadcast live at 16:17 on ITV4.
