Daniel Cammish had a simple target to end the Porsche Carrera Cup GB season – win and hope his title rivals slip up, and he did his part in tricky conditions at Brands Hatch.

Having secured two pole positions in the Nationwide Crash Repair/PPG Paint-backed car in Saturday’s qualifying sessions – setting a new record time with two laps averaging over 100mph – race victories were next on the agenda.

With overnight rain and constant drizzle in the morning, everyone went to the grid on wet tyres. He lost out at the start, slipping to second from the start in race one on, but didn’t take long to work his way back past Tio Ellinas for the lead. From there he pulled away at a relentless rate to run unchallenged to the flag. Sadly though, both of his rivals did what they needed to, meaning the points gap was too big for him to have a chance of the championship for the final race.

Dan didn’t let it bother him, however, as he led from pole in his Porsche 991 GT3 Cup machine, and in darkening and damp conditions took another lights-to-flag victory. With light rain once again falling in the later stages it made every lap a new adventure, but Dan was able to finish the season on a high, making his eighth visit to the top step of the podium of the championship season.

The final championship standings see Dan finish third, only 18 points behind champion Charlie Eastwood. He claims the accolade of most race wins of the season and also wins the Chopard fastest driver award for setting the most fastest laps during the course of the season.
