Dan Cammish:
“It’s great to be back. We pretty much agreed the deal with Redline in the back of the truck at Brands Hatch last year. They are a strong team and I’ll have the same engineer, same boys working on the car so it’s good to have the continuity. It’s a great championship and I’m very happy to continue the association with Nationwide and PPG for a second year. I wanted to continue with them, we felt part of the team and so I’m looking forward to a strong and successful year.”
Daniel Cammish will race with the number one on the side of his Porsche 991 GT3 Cup car this year as he returns to defend his Porsche Carrera Cup GB crown.
The deal was announced today in front of hundreds of invited guests at a conference for title sponsor Nationwide Crash Repair, who extend their relationship with Dan for a second year. Also continuing on the sponsor roster are PPG Refinish UK, the world’s largest suppliers of paint and speciality chemical products, and its subsidiary Brown Brothers Distribution, a national distributor of paint and dry goods to the UK crash repair industry.
The Yorkshireman dominated the 2015 season taking eleven wins from 16 races, visiting the podium a further five times in second place. The performance meant he finished 82 points clear of team-mate Michael Meadows.
For this season Dan returns to champion team Redline Racing for the eight-weekend calendar, which features seven support races for the highly popular British Touring Car Championship as well as a guest appearance on the WEC calendar in April at Silverstone. The championship Media Day takes place at Silverstone on Wednesday 23rd March with the first races at Brands Hatch on the 2nd and 3rd April.
Michael Wilmshurst, CEO, Nationwide Accident Repair Services
“Dan and Redline Racing did a remarkable job for us in 2015 both on and off the track. We achieved a high level of engagement with our own teams and customers throughout the country where Nationwide values and teamwork were admirably demonstrated. We like to think we can spot winning teams and it’s a pleasure to be involved with such a talented driver and well-loved team that consistently delivers outstanding results. Following our 2008 and 2010 Championship success with Tim Harvey, Nationwide has now won three Porsche Carrera Cup GB titles and we look forward to being at the forefront once again in 2016.”
