Dan Cammish enjoyed an impressive run of form in the British Touring Car Championship at the weekend (July 29/30) as he, alongside the NAPA Racing UK team headed to Croft for rounds 16, 17 and 18 of the season. The Yorkshire-born racer picked up pole position, a race win and two further top-four finishes in front of his home crowd.

In qualifying on Saturday, Dan hit the ground running, putting in the quickest time before the session was red flagged due to a car in the wall. With the circuit live once more and five minutes left on the clock, Dan opted not to head back out on track, sure he had done all he could. Watching in anticipation from the team garage, his pace was confirmed as he secured pole position.

Lining up at the front of the grid for race one, it was a dominant lights to flag victory for the local hero, pulling a gap of over two seconds to teammate Daniel Rowbottom for much of the 15 lap race. Crossing the line to take his third win of the season, Dan led a NAPA Racing UK one-two-three in a fantastic start to the weekend.

It was an unlucky start to race two as teammate Ash Sutton, on soft tyres, passed Dan off the line. Building a gap to Rowbottom, Dan drove comfortably in second place for the entirety of the race length, taking to the podium once again to lift more silverware and bag more crucial championship points.

Dan lined up fifth in the partially reversed grid race three, with a busy opening lap bringing out the Safety Car. As racing resumed with a new distance of 18 laps, Dan maintained fifth as he hunted down Rowbottom. Finding a way past his teammate down the inside of Tower, the Yorkshireman was up into fourth where he took the flag, making it his third top-four finish of the weekend and collecting a solid haul of points to aid him in his championship campaign.

Dan will return to BTCC action in his NAPA Racing UK / Motorbase Ford Focus ST in just two weeks’ time as the Championship heads further up north to Knockhill in Scotland over the weekend of August 12/13.
